Coach guide

How to use Northcore in Gmail.

Read this once before your first recruiting session. After that, Northcore should feel like a normal part of checking your recruiting inbox.

Install the Gmail add-on

Install Northcore from the Google Workspace Marketplace, then open Gmail and look for the Northcore icon in the right sidebar.

Start with Scan Recent Emails

Click the Northcore icon with no email selected, then run Scan Recent Emails. If the scan pauses, click Continue Scan.

Open individual recruiting emails

When you open a recruiting email, the sidebar checks whether the player is already saved. If not, it reads the email and builds a player snapshot.

Review the result

Use Target, Reviewing, or Not a Fit to triage. If an AI field looks wrong, edit it before using the data for recruiting decisions.

Day one

What coaches should expect.

Most non-recruiting emails will be skipped quickly.
New recruits from the bulk scan appear in the dashboard under Unreviewed.
The scan may pause after a batch or time limit. Continue Scan picks up where it stopped.
Opening the same email later should load the saved player quickly.

Troubleshooting

When something looks off.

No player detected

The email may not include enough concrete player detail. Try opening the original player-introduction email.

Scan paused

This is normal. Wait a moment if rate limited, then click Continue Scan.

Wrong field

Edit the player details in Gmail or the dashboard. Corrections keep your board clean.
